Returning to EQ (quiting smoking is easier) so, sure would appreciate some expert advise. My nec is 75 now (magelo click on sig). What would be the path for me to bring him up to 80 and beyond, what solo/group spots would you hit for that? Idea Pirate

Welcome back.
The gators in Loping Plains are lev 78 and would be great XP until you get 79-80.Heck probably not bad then either. You should have no probs kiting these ,nice long area across water from the spell merchant. Also you can do the faction quest while killing these too.Have fun.

I'm on the Nameless

Last nite there were more peeps in LP then mobs... I went to Steam factory with a group of guildies. I guess it will be a while b4 all the lucrative spots are available again.

I also saw some new AAs popping in, Brahaman, can u post the neww AA descriptions if u have time? I'm totally blocked from everything EQ relatat here at work (cept for eqnecro HAH!).

Also, can somebody remind me how to turn off the loading screen while zoning?

I find the minotaurs in DSH very good XP, especially when you do the kill 10 mission from Fenden. I've been grinding AAs mostly lately at 75, and get 5 AAs in 30-40 mins using double XP.

At 75, as Oz said, the DSH minos would be great xp. Take care as they are very fast when snare drops.

As you creep closer to 80 you can, in addition to the LP gators, check out the bone golems/ pumpkin head guys in HoS. Good camp for them is north of the zoneline along the fence surrounding the Bertoxx Chosen camp, by the west gate. Also a faction quest inside that camp for killing bone golems... I forget the npc name but she is standing alone inside one of the huts.... the pumpkin head guys also drops our best dot to 80, reaver's pyre (mind the spin stun spell they cast when kiting em). The Blackwater residents north of the Bertoxx Chosen camp are fun to play with also, good kite spots for them south of the town and along the NE shoreline.

Gyrospire Beza and Zeka both are kitable at the zonein. Steer clear of mobs with shock/shocker in the name here as they may summon. Instances of these zones have random zonewide aug drops which are nice.

SHIP, off of Fort Mech, you can skirt around the outside of the building to a small ledge with mobs in the rear. Attached to and below that ledge is another larger area you can kite in, pulling the mobs from the smaller ledge to the larger one. This camp, and also beza/zeka to a lesser extent, are more for right at or close to 80, depending on aa and foci, as the mobs have a good bit of hp and slow kills will make for inefficient killing if you're not cranking out the dps.

Be sure to check out Fenden Helter in the Ladies of Light Tower in DSH if you haven't heard about him already. You can port right in front of him via the guild hall port to DSH, otherwise, it's the only tower in DSH. He gives daily quests that can take some of the pain out of factioning and has some gear for sale via the currency you get for doing those quests.

As for truly 80-85 camps... I'm still figuring those out myself!

Welcome back!

SHIP/Beza/Zeka are better xp than Fortress Mechanotus proper, but I still have a warm spot in my heart for the mobs closest to the spell vendor. North of him, the strip of grass outside the fortress wall is a long and mob-free kite lane. Only problem is the occasional heart palpitation from someone warping through the zone at that point and running past you at very-much-unsnared speed. There used to be a kink in the pathing if you got too close to the wall, but about a month ago that was cut down to almost nothing. They started to go light blue at 82. High kill speed here means more hits for Rebel Brownie faction (Venomscale Venom rk. II), but for that you're better off attaching yourself to a group plowing through the elevator area for reavers and leeching faction hits.

As for Seeds of Destruction post-80, I haven't been impressed with kill speed. Almost all of my guild stayed in SoF for dinging 85 asap. I poked around Oceangreen theme but 'twas not worthwhile past 80. A necro guildie has kited in Field of Scale but I didn't get the details. Tried kiting in Kaesora Library--the corridors are wide, the iksar come in twos, but the patrollers (most mobs having "vault" OR "protector" in their name) are NOT snareable; there's probably kiting or root-rot camp-breaking to be done here, but when I had to FD at 0%, I took the hint & left. Old Bloodfields and City (not ruined) of Dranik look promising though, what with the dragorns and the muramites on opposing factions. I can kill an ikaav with one cycle of my own dots, but with the ukuns & nocs, the help of a nearby dragorn is welcome, and I can run those blasted summoning kyvs into a knot of dragorns and be rid of them. Note: dragorn lookout > kyv (any type) > dragorn guardian. Curse line does not land here, ever, don't bother memming any.

[EDIT: Theoretically I could kite dragorns as well, but I'm certain I'll need that &(#$!!! faction for something-or-another later. . .At least they made the factions killable this expansion so we can look forward to razing their outpost to the ground once we're done with them. That'll restore the timeline alright. . .]

[EDIT_02: When killing off kyv, make SURE you either lay two dots on them or run them into at least two dragorn guardians or one lookout. Otherwise you have a live kyv who is very much in summoning mode with a max hit near 4k.]

In Old City of Dranik last night There's so much insane gear, New Cultural, Not hard to catch up.

No matter what, Beza instance is still Killer AA XP @ 85. makeke sure you get the insanced mission from Clockwork Warmarshal keyword beza this way you don have to fight for camps or wait & no repops. Have a good group that can chain pull & handle 3-4-5 mobs @ a time,(chanties come in handy here) Great Lesson Burn! or Use those 10 XP pots you got for comming back, & Rock N Roll! I left for 9 mos last Dec & am just now getting caught up. WB! Like it says it's a NEVER-ENDING QUEST!
For one of the most complete new Zone Guides try:

Save those XP potions for level 84! Hell is back!

I found out what the other necros meant by Field of Scale. They weren't kiting, they were treating it like Dragonscale Hills with better XP--dropping two dots per mob and tanking or pet tanking mass kills of weak animals. Well, they did raise the dodge and defense caps by quite a bit, and it needs to be maxed once more.
